P5g41c-m lx graphics card problem

i have asus P5G41C-M LX motherboard but when i insert my graphics card the display won't come...what should i do??...do i have to disable the on board display to run my graphics card and if so then how should i do it??plz help me asap coz i just bought this board..

no and my o.s is old too ( I didn't installed new windows)..so when i plugged in the board 1st time it installed all the drivers of the board but when i plugged in my card there is no display...i have intel c2d e7400...kingston 4gb ram...420W psu...gt220 1gb..how can i disable the onboard vga??do i need to update my bios??n how would I do that?

you don't have to reinstall windows when installing a new graphics card. and like i said installing a discrete video card will automatically disable the onboard gfx. so it should work right away if the card is installed. is it a new card?
