Compare i7 vs amds quad core cpus

Hello, I'm in the process of looking for a new laptop. I am a video editor/motion graphics designer who also loves to play WOW.

My issue is that i need a system that uses OpenGL and a multi unit cpu i.e 'quad' or better if there is such a thing for a laptop. Granted, a laptop isn't the ideal unit for the kind of work i do, this is for commutability BUT i need to have as much power as possible away from shop as possible.

My high end budget is 2100.00 (possibly 2300.00) but no more than that. Suggestions pls.

@gEEK the question was one of inquiry for OPINION of others & NOT my capability of viewing or not viewing technical statistics. So I'll disregard your response and treat it like the smegma it is, maybe in the future you can just answer one's question w/o attacking them first.
