I have an old motherboard with just PCIe and not PCI Express 2.0 x16, can i buy a new gfx card that says 1 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 and still being able to use it?
Hello and welcome to the forums
What's your motherboard's model? because almost all PCI-E x16 motherboards support PCI-E 2.0 cards(with the exception of few and old boards)
I was thinking of buying: Gainward GeForce GT240 1GB PhysX CUDA, does it work? And does this meens that i don't get thoose specs that are given for this card when i do not have PCIe 2.0?
Yes, The GT 240 DDR 5 (DDR5 don´t forgot it), would be much better than your old 8600 GTS.
You could probably get 150 % more performance (in fps) in games like crysis.
