AMD Gaming Build < $1000

Hello,

This is the build I had in mind after some research:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE - $148
MOBO: Asus M4A87TD-US3 - $96
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB - $58
PSU: Antec Neo Eco 520C - $72
CPU HSF: Coolermaster Universal Hyper 212+ - $33
GPU:Gigabyte 2GB ATI HD6950 - $293
RAM: Kingston 4GB DDR3-1333 - $44
ODD: Liteon DVD Burner - $30
Antec 300 - $56

Total = $830

I have OS and peripherals.

I was also thinking of getting 8GB ram instead but not sure which one exactly would be good quality for a reasonable price. I heard G.Skill would be good but im not sure which 8GB set would be compatible.

Also, is the power supply enough? I dont think I will overclock. My alternative was the Antec True Power 650W.

Oh, and this will be FPS Games such as Crysis 2 and BF3.

Not very good.

Check out my build guide for $600.

Change the i3 2100 to the i5 2400. That'll put $600 @ $670. Then change the graphics card to the 6870 or the 6950. That'll increase $670 to around $750. That'd fit your budget, oh add $30 for the CD/DVD and you have $780

Or just go with the i3-2100, it's faster than a Phenom II 965BE in gaming. Then later on you can upgrade to a bad azz i7 with HT when you actually need it.
