Totally Confused Pls help

I am utterly confused in going for PC or XBOX 360 Slim 250GB.Well I am on a limited budget of 600$ and particularly leaned towards AMD for PC.I will purchase the PC or console as per your advise in nearly a weeks time.My friend has been really annoying and telling me to go for a PS3 since its cell processors are stronger than the i7 2xxx , i7 980x as per his statement and PS3 is more powerful than any PC's in the market.I have really been pissed off by this statement from him. "PS3 Ultimate Gaming Machine , XBOX 360 = *** Box and PC = low graphics compared to PS3.Well are these statements true Please Help Me

Well your gaming rig looks good, if your enthusiastic about computers then go with the PC but do remember that you'll have to pay membership for your xbox so it might end up being more expensive.

Advantages of consoles: simplicity, plug and play. So, if you want this, you may stick with console.

Some what dated (Dec 2008): BUT CPUs and GPUs are even better than 2008.

On forums - If Game box, game box wins, if a PC forum, PC wins. Above link should be less biased and PC wins.

Couple that with the fact that you can always upgrade to a BETTER GPU, or xfire/SLI a lower end (Cost) GPU and leave the gaming consoles in the dust.

These days, even midrange PC leaves a console in the dust. I can max out the original Crysis on my Athlon X4 630 and GTX460 768MB at 1680x1050 (without AA mind you). Oblivion (+Knights of the 9 + Shivering Isles +Quarl texture pack +OOO) I play with Q16AA+4XSS AA forced.

just a note, now that you are committed to PC:
You can build a PC tower for $600 that will connect to your HDTV and put every console to shame. My signature will get you a PC for $590-ish, if you add 2 extra fans. Its also a more powerful CPU than any AMD out right now
