Starting Out

Hello TH people,



I very new at system building. To start off in it i would like to upgrade an old HP 9870, well I'm planing on using most of the hardware and adding any upgrades. I know there is not much in upgrading this particular piece of machine but i think a great field experience project.

So if there is any advice or comments please let me have it.

In the mean time I will search the community.

Please could you list out the components CPU,RAM,Mobo etc of that 9870

This HP has has the P4T ver. 1.06 motherboard. 2g RDRAM, it was equipped with a 1.3 MHz pentium 4 processor but have a 1.8 to upgrade with.

By the way any idea where I can find a manual for the P4T ver. 1.06? Also can this unit be OCed?
