EVGA vs Gigabyte GTX 560

Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards EVGA vs Gigabyte GTX 560

I'm looking to purchase a superclocked GTX 560 because I won't be overclocking anything on my new system. I'm wondering which card I should get and where I should buy it from. I also won't be using SLi.

EVGA SuperClocked GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) @900mhz (c), 1800mhz (s), 4212mhz (m) on Newegg for $279.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814130610

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti SuperClocked @1000mhz (c), 2000mhz (s), 4580mhz (m) on Tigerdirect for $274.99
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applica [...] =G452-0562

EVGA - 3+ year warranty, uses the reference GTX 560 design but with superior components for overclocking
Gigabyte - 3 year warranty, uses Gigabyte's windforce, anti-turbulence cooling (supposed to be 16% cooler than reference)

There's also supposed to be an MSI clocked at 900mhz and 950mhz core but I haven't seen it anywhere.

Also, would you suggest Newegg or Tigerdirect? Please post why.

If you recommend any other companies for this card, please post!

I'd suggest Tigerdirect if you don't live in the states that NewEgg charges sale tax, but that's about it. They both have excellent/generous RMA policies and support.

I don't really give a flying hoot about cooling, since all/most fans on GPU's just blow the hot air inside of your case anyways and it's more important that you have a strong exhaust fan. I'd just choose EVGA's because of their lifetime warranty.

I live in the U.S., so does that mean Tigerdirect charges sales tax? Or do you mean Newegg charges sales tax only if you don't live in the U.S.?

Tigerdirect charges sale tax if you live in Oklahoma.

Newegg charges sale tax if you California, New Jersey, or Tennesse.

It does annoy me from time to time, so I avoid large purchases with NewEgg (I live in CA) and usually go to TigerDirect if I can get for same price. A $20-30 add on for sales tax could mean so many things; another stick of DDR3, a new Case Fan, etc. etc. :(

Oh thank you! I live in PA so that won't be a problem :D

Here is a review of the Gigabyte SOC from Guru3d. It comes factory overclocked at 1000mhz, which is higher than they were able to get any of their 560's to overclock on standard voltage. Guru3d was then able to overclock the SOC to 1044mhz on standard voltage. It is the fastest 560 they have reviewed out of several, and the cooler is very quiet. These cards run very cool, so internal vs. external exhaust is not a major issue.
