Supported RAM memory

hi there..can i ask something
can i use a DDR3 1600 Mhz on asus p5g41c-m lx?
i just read on manual that this mobo only supports DDR3 1333/1066/800 MHz or DDR2 memory 1066/800/667 MHz

right now i used 2GB DDR2 and i plan to try using DDR 3 ram memory..can you suggest
how much GB suitable for my pc.. also memory speed (mhz) ?
