Hi, I have a $5000 budget for a watercooling rig I am undertaking. This will be my first time venturing into watercooling, so please go light on me. I have some parts picked out and would like some expert advice on weather or not the parts are correct and recommendation on any parts I am missing and anything you feel is better for my money. I have a 46" 3D TV so I will be going Nvidia ... here's the build ...

CPU ... i7 2600K $330
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Mobo ... Gigabyte UD7 $390
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

GPU ... 3 x GTX 580's , $550 ea. $1650 total
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Case ... Silvstone TJ-O7 (or 800D or Haf-X ??) $350
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

PSU ... 1500w Strider (or 1200w ok?) $335
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

The rest, DVD-drive, 1TB Samsung F3, 120gb Intel 510, 8gb Gskill 1600's,

Around $3400. $1600 budget for watercooling parts.

CPU block ... Swiftech Apogee XT Rev3 $85
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

GPU block ... 3 x Koolance GTX 580 blocks $145 eac. $450 total
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Rad ... XPSC 480 Rad ... $150
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Pump .. MCP355 $85 with a custom top or MCP655 ???
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Res .. XSPC Liang res $50
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Tubing ... How many metres do I need ? 3/8" ???
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

Fittings .... how many 3/8th barbs do I need and do they come with clamps?
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPa...

Vid connectors ... 2 x Koolance VID connectors $50
http://www.iibuy.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_inf...

480 rad enough ? It would go on the bottom of the case with 4 x 120mm Yate loons ..
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

$900 before proper fittings/barbs/clamps. Then I use distilled water ?

I don't know the orientation of where all the parts go etc. But I would like to make sure I purchase the correct parts and the proper amount of fittings which makes me go cross eyed.

Thanks for reading, hope to hear your thoughts!

Are you in the US or even Canada? If so, have you checked other sites for parts? I think if you shop around, you should find a better deal on some of those (microcenter, newegg).

I think the 1500w is overkill...have you checked a decent PSU calculator to get you a round number?

Is there something specific that you need Tri-SLI for, or just for fun? Is there a specific game you're aiming at?

$5k is a lot to spend, especially when you're only getting a minor performance boost over a rig roughly half the price. Are you sure you need all that performance?

Australia.

It's going to be on a 3D TV so my Frame rate will be Cut in half. I am wanting to Max out all new games ... ie. The Witcher 2 with Ubersampling on. Metro2033 with DOF on. Future BF3 ... Anything out in the next few years.

I just need to know if I have the proper watercooling parts because I have read a few guides, but I am not sure if a 480 rad will be enough for heat dissipation or if the water pump is the correct one or if there's a better resevoir.

You'll be well advised to redo this post in the W/c section of the overclocking side man,
and theres a few stickies in there too R.E. parts choice as well
But to answer a couple for you here,
Barbs are sold as barbs unless specified, no clamps included, you'll need two for each component in your rig, one into it, one out (Obviously :p )
if your cooling three cards and cpu, I reckon your looking at some more radspace
tubing, you need to decide on the routing its taking, measure the distances between components and then, leave yourself an inch on each length for flex/trimming but I reckon 2m is going to be enough for you, just remember to cut straight, and carefully,
Hopefully see you over in W/c section man
