Hi,

After I install BG II and TOB, I gather I should definitely be
installing the official TOB patch from Bioware as well as these
Baldurdash fixes from http://www.baldurdash.org/:

Baldur's Gate II: Throne Of Bhaal Bugfixes
Baldur's Gate II: Shadows Of Amn Bugfixes

and I assume in both cases I should install everything, the
FixPack v1.12 (2001 - Sept. - 27)]
FixPack v3.61 (2001 - Sept. - 16)

And then if I like any of the tricks and tweaks, I can install those
one by one.

But I get the idea that the official patch and the 2 Baldurdash
bugfixes should always be installed as your base installation.

Thanks
jeffo

No. If you have Throne of Bhaal, /just/ install the ToB fixpack. The
Shadows of Amn fixes are not meant to be installed on a computer with
ToB installed.

Yes

No, not necessary: in fact counterproductive.

Yes, but *with caution*. In particular, be cautious about installing any
of the "tweaks and cheats" from the Shadows of Amn section AFTER
installing Throne of Bhaal at all, or after installing any of the later
fixes. The Bonus Merchants work perfectly, though, and are highly
recommended.

Like I said above, only the *one* set of Baldurdash bugfixes.

My base installation, which I would recommend to anyone, is as follows:

BG2 - Shadows of Amn
BG2 Expansion - Throne of Bhaal
BG2 ToB Official Patch
BG2 ToB Baldurdash Bugfixes: FixPack and Game Text Update
Bonus Merchants (available from the SoA Tweaks & Cheats, but harmless no
matter when you install them.)

after that, make 2 zipped backups, one of the "dialog.tlk" file and one
of the "override" folder, and save them somewhere, to writable CD if you
have such a thing, this will save you a lot of trouble in the future.

Jonathan.

Nice! That's great. I'll follow your advice.
