Hello,

This one seems quite new:

I haven't seen any review.

Any info?

the gt440 is nto new however here in the states for some reason we are only able to buy them through oem's liek dell or hp usually with a computer... don't knwo why they (nvidia) locked themselves otu of a large segment of the low-mid end market but they did /shrug

Apparently since February they are sold as stand alone cards...

What are the performances of such card? Is it comparable to a HD5670?

yea... seemingly everywhere but the us and i believe canada can get them... which kinda sucks casue it is a large segment of the gpu market in that price range >_< i couldn't find much on it sother than specs... probabyl not reviewed much in states/canada caseu we can't actually buy them

it will likely be much worse then the 5770, I wouldn't expect near the same performance. what are you full system specs and monitors resolution so we can make a proper recommendation :)  thanks

yea, as its below a gts 450 and in general a 5750 loses to a gts450 which loses to a 5770 ... a 440 would probably compete with a 5670

My specs: Acer Aspire M5810, I5-750 processor, 6Gb RAM DDR3, max. 500W PSU, Win7 HP 64bits and an HP monitor supporting up to 1680*1050 resolution.
Thanks for the advice!

thanks! what is the make and model of your PSU?
February 1, 2011 7:47:57 PM

Not sure about the make, but the service manual refers to the following FRU for the PSU:
FR 500W EUP 82+ (ES5.0)
February 1, 2011 7:54:30 PM

The service manual also says:

Graphics card support
• No mechanical retriction to support for double slot, full length graphics cards in the single PSIe X16 slot

well the level of graphics card that you plan on buying should work but if it does not your psu def sounds suspect so I would replace it immediatley if the graphics card does not work when you eventually buy one and without knowing any specs with respects to amperage on a 12v rail there is no telling whether it will work or not but generally 500w is enough for that range of gpu, I would upgrade the psu if you have the money, if not you can try to wing it, but if it doesnt work you know that you will have to replace your psu likely

I will go for the 5770.
I can buy this one in a nearby shop
http://www.tdh.be/product.aspx?catID=4&famID=11&id=1102...

or order this one from Amazon
http://www.amazon.fr/Sapphire-RADEON-5770-Adaptateur-Di...

Which one do you think I can choose?
@jjb: I think I do have at least 1x6 pin connector on my PSU, that should be sufficient for a 5770 that requires only 1 power cable connection.
I hope that opening the box will not void the warranty (there are still the stickers on the back!)

your warranty will be fine, one pci-e six pin cable is all you need for the 5770, I would go with the sapphire from amazon, enjoy

have you considered HIS their card are quiter and good in cooling and reliability
And 5770 is the Best choice,, nd it will work totally fine on ur psu no problem at all go ahead nd enjoy

GT440 for OEM and retail are using different chip. the original GT440 which is only available for OEM is based on GF106 while the retail one is based on GF108. if you look carefully the retail version of GT440 is GT430 with little modification. GT440 use GDDR5 instead of GDDR3 in GT430 and the base clock for GT440 has been increased to 800mhz+. performance wise i'm expecting this card to have comparable performance with GT240 but i'd still can't find direct comparison between the two on the internet. for more detail TPU have review for the card. if my memory serves me right the card lose to 5670 in every benchmark tested
