Hi guys, i am just looking to get a few helpful comments on what i should do with my rig at the mo.

This is my current setup at the mo:

Coolermaster Haf 922
Intel i7 930
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
OCZ Gold 6GB 1600 DDR3 ram
2x Powercolor 5850
XFX 650w PSU
Samsung 1 TB HDD
Scythe Yasya CPU cooler
& 1 newly purchased OCZ Vertex 3

Basically, i've just got the Vertex 3 through today, and i know that the best sata 6 controllers are on 1155 systems, (better than my marvell 9128) so in order to get the best out of my system,
I was looking at doing a limited upgrade as i can probably sell my mobo, cpu & ram for around £250, maybe more i recon?

I was looking at:

Intel i5-2500K
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i5-2500k-unlocked-1155-sandy-bridge-quad-core-33ghz-gpu-850mhz-6mb-cache-95w-oem

ASUS P67 Sabretooth

(If anyone can suggest an alternative to the Mobo i'm all ears, i would like to keep the 2 x16 lanes, cos i'm looking to upgrade my gpus in the future)

Corsair RAM

All i'm getting at is:
1. Would this be worth it? as the financial outlay isnt that much (~£150) as i recon the rest of my rig is compatible.

2: Can i save a bit of money anywhere?

3: Could i keep using my ram (i.e. throw away 1 stick) or is it best to buy again?

4: Could i get away with only 4GB or is 8GB best?

5: Is it worth going up to an i7-2600K?

6: Or should i just hold fire till the end of the year and get Intels high end sockets that are coming out?

Thanks for the help in advance guys!

Yeah, the CPU performance increase is not a major factor for me, hence why i was looking at an i5-2500K (performance is very similar) (and significantly cheaper).
I was mainly looking at it for the chipset.

Any advice on the Mobo & Ram?

Yeah Ivy bridge sure does look tasty, especially those leaked slides that appeared last week

Thanks for the advice, i think i'll hold off and wait for the next round of releases, after playing around with my ssd for a week, its fast enough for now! Thanks for the mobo selection tho, they are no way as expensive as i though!
