I just had my main hard drive fail and i need advice on a new harddrive. It was a:
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

36 month warranty and it failed in the 40th month :( oh well.

Any ways i need to purchase a new one fast since all I have is 2 green drives i use for storage. (Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive)

Im plannin on upgrading to a i7 build sometime next year.

Western digital is still ok with me. I think this failure was just a fluke. I dont need anything to large the 500gb drive seemed like more than enough for my main drive.

I spent some time today looking into SSD and Velociraptors but they seem expensive for what you get. I looked at their benchmarks and can't seem to find much of a difference between the three but bench marks can be misleading.

Im hoping to keep it under $150.
