Ok just got the parts for my frist pc build. Useing an older dell power supply, a bought an amd athlon ii x3 455 and a biostar a880gz motherboard, plus ram hard drive and all that. Put it all together, jump the board and...... Nothing. For the life of my i can not get the board to post. Tested the psu, works fine, made sure cpu and memory was installed correctly everything. So far i think its either some incompatability with the older psu or its doa. Please help! Using onboard video if that matters.

Connect the motherboard to your case. Then boot it up using the power button on your case, maybe you're shorting the board improperly.

Check the PSU in the back, if the switch is ON. And the cable plugged in.

Make sure you plugged in your motherboard....to the psu.

And do any of the motherboard lights light up? It should be green or red.

Anyone have an answer for this? Im having the exact same issues with the same motherboard. It would not run the cpu or ps fan until i reset the cmos. Now the fans run but system does nothin else. I did notice that it would do nothing until i removed 2 screws holding the board because Ihad to push down to get these screws in and it was putting pressure on the board like actully bending the board downward. It would do nothing until I loosened these screws. Now it turns but only the 2 fans run as mentioned earlier...nothing else happens. One more thing is that with the video card in its slot, the fans do not work but when I remove the v card the fans do work..I have tried different scenarios with removing the memory and using only 1 slot ata time. and nothing works. any help is greatly appreciated.....thank you!
