GA-X58A-UD3R sata2 not working

My CDROM Drive is not working from my GA-X58A-UD3R mobo.

it doesnt open or close.

ive tried installing latest bios
ive tried resetting cmos and bios

bios still doesnt recognize it

what can I do to fix this?

Do you have the drive plugged into the power supply? Is it also connected to the board? Have you tried using different SATA slots?

If the drive won't open or close when using the button on the drive itself, then either the power to the drive is disconnected, or the drive itself is faulty.

Is your first time to connect the dvd or it has been used for a while and used to work on the motherboard?
