Hello, this is my first post here, and i come to you with a problem

I just finished building my computer today and when i first booted it up, everything seemed to work fine. Fans turned on, psu fan turned on and my case LED lights turned on. However, my monitor, keyboard, and mouse did not. My specs are:

ASUS Crosshair IV Formula http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813131644

COOLER MASTER HAF 932 FULL TOWER http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6811119160

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103727

Patriot G Series ‘Sector 5’ Edition 4GB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6820220436

Seagate Barracuda 7200 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6822148395

LG dvd burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6827136177

ati radeon HD 5770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814161338

Corsair 650tx power supply http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817139005

I looked at my mobo manual and found out that the Start button supposed to flash three times before i can boot it up. My Start button in my mobo just lights up and stays like that. I found another thread with that same problem, however i still don't know how to solve the problem. The thread is: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] wont-power
I don't know what he means by a "short"

I don't have a internal speaker connected because i was being unorganized and lost it :(

I don't know what other details to give, but if you ask, i will answer! Thanks for the help in advance. Also if you haven't found out yet, i'm a noob at this lol.

Are they plugged in the front panel, or the back panel?
If they are in the front panel, that indicates the front USB connector is incorrectly installed.
If it is in the back panel, then it could indicate a faulty motherboard.
Does it boot normally? Or just turn on?

The external devices are plugged in the back panel. Everything seems to boot normally. Fans turn on, LED lights turn on, however my external devices don't turn on. I think the computer just turns on and does not boot, but i don't know because i cant see anything in my screen haha.

Is there a way to check if it is my motherboards fault, or do i just have to guess?

Thanks for the reply.

Okay, is the CPU in the socket? Is the Heatsink plugged in? Is EVERY Motherboard connector installed? Your PSU is non-modular, Right? Make sure the 24 pin connector is hooked up, as well as the 4/8 pin.

The CPU is in the socket, i reinstalled the CPU in the socket. The Heatsink is plugged in to my motherboard. Not all of the Motherboard connections are installed. Everything is plugged in to my motherboard. Fans, LED lights, 24 pin, 8 pin. My Hard drive is connected by a 6 gb SATA wire. The hard drive is also connected on to my Power supply. My CD drive is connected to my 6 gb SATA wire.

I don't know what else to do. I guess my only option is to take out my motherboard and reinstall it onto my case. If that doesn't work ill try to get an RMA.

Thanks for the reply.

I just found in another forum that the Crosshair didn't boot because the heatsink was giving to much pressure to the CPU. I'll try to loosen the screws and see if that works.

Ok i got my computer to boot up! The problem was that my mobo couldn't duel channel ram. I don't know why. However after i finish installing my ram im going to try to turn on my mobo with only the ram that i took out. If that works, i will try different combinations to try to get duel channel rams running. I will edit later if i find a way to duel channel my ram.
