2500k cpu w/P67 based MB and at least 4 GB of RAM are pretty much the defacto standard recommendations (and for good reason, given their prices/performance), and likely will remain so for many months to come....

For a $1000 build $800 after 23-24" widescreen LCD), I'd consider at least a GTX560 to start; if you can reuse an older DVD drive and hard drive, consider that a 2nd GTX560 added later in SLI gives fairly formidable performance up through 19x12 res....

Yeah I got that deal in my email today and it's really nice. There's about $20 worth of promo codes in there as well although promo codes don't last very long. I'd get that + 560 ti/6950 and a 22-24" LCD like the guy above suggested.
