Ok, so I had just added a 9500 GT to my desktop(HP). My earlier power supply that came with the computer died sometime back I'm guessing because it wasn't grounded. I had the power supply changed and the technician put it in some local brand(I had never heard of it). So today while playing crysis 2(and while I was in an intense battle), my computer just wen off. And it hasn't powered on since(just the blue led of the power button lights on, but nothing else does. Not the fans, the hard disk, the dvd drive nada). Has just my power supply died? also if yes will a coolermaster extreme power plus 350 be able to power it? Here are my specs:
Intel Pentium D processor 2.8 GHz
2 GB DDRII RAM
160 GB Seagate SATA HDD(I'm planning on getting an additional 500 GB)
Zotac 9500 GT 1GB DDRII
M-Audio Audiohile 2496 Sound Card
Don't know which Mobo but it's still the same HP one that I got back in 2006.
The Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 350W (RS-350-PCAR-I3) you asked about is just a piece of low end trash.
Both of the Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus and Elite Power series are Cooler Master's cheap low end series. That's why they only have a two year warranty. No model in either of those two series has ever garnered a Pass rating or have ever been recommended by any reputable PSU review sites.
Antec, Corsair, SeaSonic, XFX are the reputable PSU brands you should be selecting from.
