Dell Dimension 8400 PSU replacement

Hello,
I have been looking around for a replacement of my psu. I have a dell dimension, and I was wondering where I could buy a PSU that would fit, and that wouldn't fry my mb. The reason due to this is that I have been experiencing random parity error, whether I'm logging in, or in the middle of a game, it occurs. Would this PSU fit?

Im not sure if that one would fit or not. I tend to stick with original dell parts. I bought a power supply from these guys before. it might not be the power you are looking for though.

looks standard atx size most will fit but look at getting something better
from antec,corsair,xfx,seasonic,silverstone ect

Needs a Dell compatible psu ( aka switchless )
Or, you could cut the back panel to allow for a switched psu.
Check the caps on the MB to make sure none are swollen before sinking money into a new psu.

Wouldnt a parity error be a memory (RAM) problem?
try using just one stick or substituting a replacement if you have one

i was thinking a new psu because i had heard that possibly the MB isnt powered enough due to an old/dieing psu.

I'm also planning to upgrade the video card. Unfortunetly, a 350w psu that is failing isnt gonna cut it. Currently I have an x300/x550 video card.

Also, the parity errors have been less frequent after disabling my floppy drive (the comp was trying to recognize a floppy that wasnt there )

really try using different sticks or just one temorarily

my sticks are all functioning fine. I have tried each one on its own and they are all functioning like they should.

Would it be my OS? Because i had previously installed linux, and had no such problem with my bios. I then installed win7, and the problems occured.
