I was in the middle of doing some simming and for some reason when I
pressed play vcr, a screen came up to browse folders for the vcr...
does anyone know where to go to find the recently made vcr? It was
working fine a minute before.

That means no VCR was produced and VC.exe is confused.

(Diplomat tells VCR.exe to look in the \planets4\sim\ directory for
"sim.vcr" and if it isn't there, VCR.exe defaults to a manual mode.)

Sometimes battles don't produce VCR's because no ships were destroyed
and Host.exe figures it was too trivial to display.

Background:

A couple of years ago, there were problems with RST files clogging up
with dozens of "dull combats". You'd watch them from beginning to end,
there would be an inconclusive fight and eventually, after maybe 1500
ticks it would end. It was immensely frustrating and time consuming
trying to figure out which were worth watching. So Tim introduced this
fix where irelevant VCR's were deleted. It's a bit of a cludge but
believe me, having the occasional "dull vcr" that you DID want to watch
deleted is a whole lot better than ploughing through lots of time
wasting spurious pseudo-fights every turn.

When I open a QSV in quickbuild that I created in Diplomat, it trims
off the weapons.
