In non-technical terms its just a weaker version of the GTX 460. It would be better desision to get a GTX 460 1GB version (non-SE), what are the prices you are looking at? Maybe I can find something cheaper.

Unfortunately I hail from South Africa and we are royally screwed when it comes to electronics as our government has a 30% tariff on electronics, the price for the two is actually identical: R1846 or at current exchange rate approximately $253, and thats the best deal out of 16 wholesalers

The normal version and the SE (smart edition) version have a difference in the amount of stream processors there are enabled.

The SE version has 288 cores and the normal version has 336. If both editions are priced the same, go for the normal version, it will perform faster.

Ahh I see, go for the normal version, not the SE.
