Yes. If you look on Newegg.com you can find different brands and styles.

besides the look and the housing, what is the difference and which would you say is the best pick of the 5770's, the bulkier looking one by xfx or the xfx with the modest housing and why?

this one newegg shows has my asus boards pcie 16x2.0 : HD-577X-ZNFC; the one i referred to as having a bulky housing appears to be a 2.1 slot. don't i of necessity have to go with the 2.o?

No, 2.1 cards work perfectly fine in 2.0 slots.

Honestly, its a 5770, its not a big bad card, they don't put off that much heat with the reference design cooler so it doesn't matter which you get.

I heard the XFX Egg Shaped Cooler isn't amazing, I'd advoid it, besides that it really doesn't matter.

If you REALLY must know, the Hawk would be the best one.

Some people like the more expensive ones for the warranty. I don't care to much if my card dies, it gives me the excuse to upgrade. If my 5750 kicks the bucket tomorrow, I'll limp along on my old x1800xt until I find a new card. Really not a problem.

Value and a good name:

Sapphire w/rebate ;)

I agree somewhat on price, but some have better cooloing options . Warranties or great up to about two years for me. If your gaming, your going to upgrade before that if you can affoed to.

Personally, I never go for more expensive models unless the cheaper ones have problems.

Seriously, why not get one that does the exact same thing for much cheaper?

There are exceptions to this rule and Powercolor is one of the few I'd avoid -- due to personal experience with problems and customer support (and the number of complaints they receive for both!) --- however if using that logic why not the HIS unit for $99 after MIR instead ?

wuups; too late; maybe cause it was 3am, maybe i broke under the stress of debating or perhaps blind chance stepped; at any rate, i went with the xfx card. yup, it's a done deed; thanks for two great options.

cheers all

Considering you can get a GTX 460 768 for $10-15 more (or less in some cases with MIR) the real question should be why are you even considering a 5770?
