Lap top loss of wireless signal

Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 3000. For the last two days I have not been able to connect to the web using my wireless. I have to actually use the cable and that works fine. What's going on? Do I need a card?

do you have a switch on your PC to turn the wireless on and off? may be you accidentally turned it off.
