  2. ^+1 agreed I have the XFX reference 6870 and I upgraded from a 4870 and am quite happy I decided to get this, well worth the upgrade, imo and soon I hope to crossfire it, can't wait I was able to reach 980 core and 1150 memory before having to increase voltage, oh well still powerful out of the box

it performs very well at 16X10 and I Can play all of my games at 1920X1200 all high and 4xaa with no problems, except crysis of course...

the cooler on this one looks awesome but I wonder how it stacks up against the already decent reference cooler?
  4. ^^^^not worth the money considering you can get a 6870 for about 10-20 more, and you can find some 5850s for around 180 before rebate, so I don't think thats a good deal much better off with the 6870 imo
  5. If you are damn serious about buying a great gpu then here it is:

  6. now that is actually a pretty good deal if the op is willing to wait for the rebate, a 5870 for around 200 is not bad at all, but if not I would say the 6870 is also a valid choice, but the 5870 will be a tad better if you only plan on having one card, get the 5870, if you plan on cross-firing, then go for the 6 series, either way you can't really go wrong
  7. I suggest a sapphire 5870 1gb, I came from a sapphire 4870 512mb, just like you, and the difference was amazing. And I'm playing on a 1980 x 1200.
  8. Sapphire has some really nice deals up right now.

The only debate is crossfire or not, if you plan to, 6870. If you don't 5870.
  9. Thanks everyone! I was working a bit today, appreciate the feedback. I will go back and research the 5870 as I was looking at only one card. Looks like for me its between the 5870 and the 6870. I will keep you all posted...Thx again!
