Hi, I'm building a new system and I was hoping to get some input from people who know more than I.

My price range is $1200-1500, I'm looking for fairly high performance.

Below are the components I've been considering thus far.

I am somewhat new to all of this, so any input would be great. Thanks.

Mobo is socket 1156 which will not work with your socket 1155 CPU. I know, it is like Intel is purposely trying to mess people up, lol.

Yeah what are you going to use your computer for? I mean even 8 GB is overkill for gaming and stuff but if you do video editing then you'll need the 16GB. It looks like a solid build but I would go with a cheaper HDD maybe 500GB and get an SSD. Really, like everyone I know who gets a computer with an SSD can't stop raving about it to me.

Thanks for the reply. This is why I posted here, to avoid making stupid mistakes like that. SSDs are cool, I've always hated the idea of having to spend equal or more money for less space, but maybe I'll give it a try. Like I mentioned before, only 8 gigs are going into this machine, I'm using the other 8 to upgrade one that I've been using for a while. I do perform some video editing but my chief activities are multi-threading software development and gaming.
