Hi guys!
i'm looking for a replacement for my old linksys 'gateway'. It has started to fail every 4-5 hours so i need a new piece of hardware.

My question is, is there any difference between routers, modems, gateways and access points? which one is the component that i need?
Can't find documentation about the characteristics of each one. Thanks a lot!!

you will need a router if you have a separate modem.

Hi again!
I had a gateway only. So i need a modem and a router? i suposse then that the gateways are both modem and router, is this correct?

What model Linksys do you have?

Does a TV cable or a Telephone line hook up to it?
