So currently my setup is:

I7-920
Asus rampage II extreme
6 gb ddr3 1600 trip chan
OCZ 850 Watt PSU
XFX gtx 260 Black edition
WD Caviar 250GB 7200 RPM 16MB SATA 3.0Gb/s

I have to upgrade a graphics card (giving old one to brother). I've been contemplating about between the gtx 560 and the 570. I have the money to buy the 570. I'll be playing rift and couple of other games here and there. The biggest part i'm worried about is the large scale battles that'll go on in rift. But i guess the question is... do i buy the 560? Or do i just go ahead and spend more and get the 570.

I know I can sli the 560 in the future, or even oc the 560 up to a 570. But i just can't decide... I am willing to spending for the 570 just wondering if its worth it. Or if 560 will be capable of doing everything possible in rift?

Would love to hear your opinions, thanks in advance!

I would go with the 570 but also depends on the res.
What is the resolution you playing at ?

At this resolution, gtx 560 ti would be better

gtx 570 works alot better at higher resolutions but at 1680 x 1050, both will give u almost the same level of performance

but of course, 570 is still better

i would recommend Gigabyte's geforce gtx 560 ti soc
its factory overclocked to 1GHz and performs as better as gtx 570

So the extra oomph from the 570 would be wasted in rift? I guess what i'm hoping is to ask if anyone know that the 560 will be able to run everything at the highest settings even with large scale battles in a 1680x1050

Im playing rift right now on my old pc with a 2.2ghz duel cpu, 2gigs of ram, and a ATI 4850. It can handle it on max setting at 1920x1080 at around 30fps. I didn't bother installing it in my newer rig with the 580 so i tested it on my old rig to see if it can handle it and it can. Also i spoke to a few people on Rift and one had a similar build to you except he had a GTX 580 and he was getting 100fps. But out of the GTX 560 or GTX 570 i'd go with the 570. Because 2 GTX 570's is so beast if you ever decide to get another for SLI. GTX 560 is somewhat equal to a single GTX 580 if not some case a bit faster. But 2 GTX 570's blows any game you throw at it.
