Intel Q8300 Compatible with Asus P5kPL-SE

I wish to know if the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 is compatible with the ASUS P5KPL-SE.

According to the supported CPU list from the Asus site it would not be compatible.

However doing a Google on both CPU and MB, there are configurations with them.
The Q8200 and Q9300 are compatible according to Asus and use the same voltage and max TPD.
So my guess would be that they should fit nicely together.
It beats me why Asus doesn't have it in their compatible cpu list.
