I have rebuilt my system about 2 months ago. The only thing that has not been replaced is the motherboard, original hard drive, and the wifi adapter.

My problem is that my computer will freeze and go black at random times even at idle. I have an older motherboard that I had bought in 2007/08. Its a DDR2 motherboard.

Rig Specs:

Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H
AMD X6 1075 OC@3.3GHZ
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler
4GB Corsiar 800Mhz
120 GB IDE HDD
650 GB SATA HDD
EVGA 550 TI 2GB (Planning on upgrading to a 680)
700 Watt Corsair PSU
3x 120mm Fans
2x 60mm Fans

This has been frustrating since this rig is my Gaming/Student computer. It will sometimes be running fine for days at a time. Other it will freeze or go black 30 seconds into it booting up. It is also taking up 8 min just to boot and 15-20 to be completly running smooth. I do not have anything running at start up except for my anti-virus.

My temps at idle are about 36C and 40C . Inside my case is about the same.

My motherboard is the only main component I have not replaced. If it is a motherboard problem. What are some good motherboards for $40-$70 that would be a good replacement that is DDR3.
