Im currently looking at buying a 5770 but i read that a crossfired 5770 is still not as powerful as a single 5850. Im only planning on playing on a 1440x900 monitor. But then i am thinking if i do plan on buying a 5850i might as well get a 6870 for an extra $10 or go all out for a 5870. So any advice guys?
BTW: I am getting a phenom II 965 x4 black edtion

Edit: Also what about the 6850? Aainim gonna be playing on a 19 inch monitor 1440x900

x2 5770's is equivelnt to a sinlge 5850.If you have the money it doesn't make sense to get x2 5770's.I would go for the 5870 since it's so cheap but the 6870 is a newer card and will perform better at newer games in the future.

I currently own a XFX6870 and a Phenom ii x4 965 @4ghz on a 1600x900 monitor and it kicks butt.

I would say go with the 6870 because it's much lighter on power conumption and will be more futureproof than a 5870.But the 5870 is faster when it comes down to raw muscle.

What games are you going to play and what is your PSU?

i wanna play games like starcraft 2, battlefield bad company 2, dragon age, witcher, etc. Im planning on getting a antec sonata III witht he 500 watt psu. and this is my mobo-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138300

BTW- is this mobo good for crosfiring 2 6870s?

It doesn't have x2 PCI-Express x16 slots.It only has one.Usally the crossfire mobos go for around $130.

You should have no problem maxing out all those games with a 6870 and a x4 965 @ 1400x900.

Your going to need a lot bigger PSU to manage a crossfire setup. It is possible to run a single 5870 on a Antec 500watt but not 2.Even for x2 6870.
What is your budget and we can help you out.

my budget is around $700. Even now with the 6870 im going over my budget by $30. Im willing to buy a single 5870 since i realize it is a better single card than a 6870. Im not exactly interested in crossfiring either honestly. So yeah im willing to go for a 5870 but i want to be as close to $700 as possible.

Here is what i have currently in my cart-

Your pretty tight in your budget but it could work. That Case and Windows 7 combo is a good deal because Antec makes reliable PSU's so thats good. But you should realize if you going to crossfire you will need a bigger one.
