Power Color Radeon HD 5850 with a HP XW6660 workstation

Hi All,

I would like to know whether I can use a PowerColor Radeon HD 5850 Graphics card with a HP XW6660 Workstation? I have PCIe slots, but I'm just worried about the power supply. Now I'm using a Nvidea Quadro 290. Please help

You should have no problem. That workstation comes with a 650 watt 80-plus power supply. Are you replacing the quadro altogether?

A Quadro NVS 290 uses only 21W at full load. You should have no problem whatsoever. The only reservation I would have is the ATI and nVidia drivers not playing nice with one another. Anyone tried using one card from each company in a single system these days?

work station aside, win seven allow for two different drivers to be installed in one system. that's why people able to use ATI and Nvidia cards in one system. i'm not really sure for vista but i think you can't do that for win xp. other than that it will be system based on lucid hydra.
