Surround Sound not working on X-fi Fatal1ty card

Hello all,
Tonight I just bought a Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound system and plugged it into my Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty sound card that I've had on headphones for a couple of years. When I plug it in, the Front Left, Front Right, and Subwoofer speakers all make noise but the Center, Rear Left, and Rear Right speakers don't do anything. I changed the control panel settings in both Windows 7 (64-bit) and Creative to the 5.1 surround sound setting and it does nothing. I updated my driver for the sound card as well. Nothing works. What could be the problem?

Never mind...I went into the auto-update program that Creative supplies, and switched my plugs to Pink, Black, then Green with the 4th slot empty, and now all five speakers are making noise. So if anyone else stumbles on this problem, hope that helps.

Odd, pink is supposed to be reserved for Microphone INPUT; you shouldn't even be able to get an output from that port.
