Can i support more that 8 gigs

hi i am building a new pc its my first full build and im getting a nivida nforce 650i SLI 775 MOBO and it said max memory is 8 but i was wondering if i can double that to 16gigs for extreme pc?????

why are you planning on using 5 year old technology sir?
go for socket 1155, 775 in 2012 is a no no

umm, why are you building a new computer on the LGA 775 platform? That platform is for Core2 cpus. You should be looking at LGA 1155 or LGA 2011.
Most mobos on 1155 and 2011 support more than 8 GB.

edit: give us a budget and someone will put together a build.
