Is this a good reliable card I can use for year or more (likely more) in a 500 budget build to get good/decent settings & fps on most new games?

I am running a E5700 oc' to 4.0ghz with four gigs DRR3 dual channel.

6850, faster than a 5830, consumes less energy, has stronger DX11 performance, and is a shorter card.

5830 are selling cheap as AMD is trying to clear inventory.

That was pretty much a make piece card AMD cobbled together out of broken 5870/5850's give us a budget and preferred vendor and im sure we could find something better.

I would think you will be ok to play it at a reasonable level not max settings but not too far away i would guess.
