Hi all....
Can anybody help, I have a Compaq Presario (not sure of the model
number), it won't turn on. With the power lead in the indicator glows
green but the indicator for the battery glows orange for about 3
seconds and then goes off. It was ok the night before last. Is it a
battery failure or could it be something more serious?
Thanks in advance

There is a procedure for older Presario laptops for this problem that
can be found on HP's site for some models (1000, 1200 series, I think).
It is something like power down, remove battery, remove AC adapter, hold
power key down for one minute, leave battery out but connect AC adapter
and see if it boots. If it does not, repeat procedure and let computer
sit idle for several hours, connect AC adapter and see if it will boot.

This is SOOO odd, this just happened to me too.. I was on my Dell Laptop
before work, and it was fine, i came home from work and couldnt' get it to
turn on, did all that battery stuff still didn;'t work, left to go babysit,
came back wouldn't turn on, 3 chances later, i am running it without my
power cord right now, hoping when i plug it in it will still work..

Skootz -
Please visit www.compuguyz.com, and see the documentation I have placed
on the home page. This may be what is happening to your Presario -
currently, I have sent two other motherboards to a guy who can fix them
over in Italy. Read all the details at the address listed above.
