How to take my heatsink off

Well, I decide to RMA my MB. It's just been 4 days since the built the new system. But, I can't take the stock heatsink off my Phenom ii x3 720p CPU. It seems to be glued there and I am afraid if I use too much force I may break my cpu. What can I do?

Get it off. Thanks.

Heat up the computer. Shut it down.
Twist from side to side to remove the heatsink.
