Hi guys im currently just started running a cf 5850 set up. One of my cards the one with better airflwo runs at ok temps at idle abotu 45 celsiues. The other whose fan is blocked by the otherside fo the second card runs at about 60 celsius. Is there anythign i can do reduce the temps on the second card ? Thanks. My case is a gigabyte 3d aurora got 3 fans installed and the side panel off. Thanks.

The first card (which is also the one that is "covered") is always going to run hotter, as it is used more.

The best thing to do is have a couple intake fans modded in to the side of your case on the panal blowing directly on the cards.

60 at idle on a non-modded 5850 is too high - with the cover off. Use Gpuz to see if the clocks are at max - I bet thats whats going on here. At 60, the 5850 will start to automatically spin up the fan and hold it there.

What version driver are you using? The newer ones seem to have an issue with running one 5850 at max clocks - even at idle...that would drive your temps up.

I run modded CF 5850s and my "covered" or main 5850 idles at less than 40C with the cover on and no side fan.

Im using catalyst 11.1 drivers. I manually turned on fan control on the hot card to 100% as well.
