I'm sorry, it must get incredibly old as I know this is an over-asked question, but I've spent the last three days looking at thread after thread on this and other sites, and they all conflict with one another or have multiple answers, which is to be expected with a build.

Here's my direct and simple question, however:

If you have a system or know someone with a system that can go into 25-Man Raids on Cataclysm with Ultra settings and high FPS, please post your specs. My budget is $800 or so, a little more won't kill me, but neither will a little less (Yeah, right).

Thanks in advance,

~~~Will
i5-2500 + 4 GB DDR3-1600 + Free game: $246.98
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.623053
no overclock, but its fast enough anyway, and 4 GB of DDR3-1600 for $36 is a fantastic deal.
AS Rock H61M/U3S3 motherboard: $79.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157236
Only 1 PCIe slot, but its the least expensive board with USB3/Sata 3 for later expansion
HIS HD 6950 2 GB: $254.99 w/ $20 MIR
Antec EarthWatts 80+ Bronze 650W PSU + Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB HDD: $129.98
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.627707
a little overkill on the PSU, but a great deal (if you assume the HDD is full price at $65, you're only paying $65 for the $80 PSU!).
LG 24x DVD burner: $18.99
Rosewill Destroyer case: $49.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147144
total $783.92
shipping: $15.09
total: $799.01
you can add up to 4 120mm fans to this build (2 side, 1 top, 1 bottom)
My build let me run icc25 fine on 25man with 50+fps,
other than Bot trash runs and Bh once a week, I've not gotten any Cata raiding done cause I work nightshifts, but I have no problems
M3a770de Mobo
X3 435 unlocked and clocked to 3.2 (I'd recommend a 955BE though)
4Gb 1600Mhz Ram
Sapphire 5770 clocked to 950/1350 (not all cards clock equally,go for the 6950 Screwy suggested)
600w psu (mines cheap but get a decent one for yourself)
Win7 64bit
20Mb Broadband connection hardwired to router/modem, no wireless gaming hehe
on a 20" monitor throwing out 1680x1050
All ingame settings on ultra except:
Sunshafts>low
Shadows>low
tex filtering 4x
and thats mainly because I dont like the sun/shadow effects,
I also have the framerate limited to 100 in foreground,
if you can build your system to beat (as in more recent components than) mine, you should be laughing in raids,
hth,
Moto
Have two sons that play but, unlike most of their other games, I have not been able to "stay interested" sitting there watching them play WoW. The older system has an R3E Mob w/ OC'd 920, 6 GB of CAS 6 DD#-1600 and OC'd GTX 295. The newer system has a WS Revolution w/ i7-2600k, 8 GB of CAS 7 DDR3-1600, twin OC'd GTX 560's, Vertex 3 SSD.
I can't quite hit $800 but this is the lowest cost 1920 x 1200 build ($949) I'm comfortable building where I don't have to worry about the person being disappointed at some point.
