Hey all,

Im thinking about upgrading my Graphic card. Right now I'm running 8800GT 512 in SLI. I'm thinking about purchasing an GTX 460. My current setup is athlon X2 245 (2.9) 8GB DDR3 1066, Samsung 1T F3, 8800 GT SLI. I play FPS games and do some pot editing. Not sure what to upgrade. Any info would be great thanks

It will need to be a 1GB version in order to be a meaningful upgrade as I have moved from having two 9800gt in sli. In most games you will notice a nice boost even in cpu limited games. Plus there is power savings at idle. 30w per card at idle while a single gtx 460 uses only 20w at idle. Load hover isn't going to be nice but fully loaded and overclocked both in the end use the same power instead of being two cards it will be just one.

I upgraded to a gtx 460 1gb from a 8800gt sli w/ q6600 at 3.2ghz, and I saw a pretty good jump in performance. I game at 1680 x 1050, do it! Temps were a lot cooler too, my 8800gt's would idle close to 60c while my gtx 460 idles at bout 28c. Keep 1 8800gt as a physx card and ur good to go!
