Semi-Modular 850W battle between XFX and Corsair.. which one to pick?

Hey guys, in your opinion, which one should my friend get? He has money so the $8-9 difference in price wont make a difference

Please list reasons, XFXs internals are made by SeaSonic, so theyre great quality, and Corsair is great as well

Because ive used them for 4 years in 5 different systems and still going strong and quiet.

Straight forward decision. Pick the one which you find cheaper. Both are excellent units. The max dispute might arise on the topic of looks.

The XFX looks better without doubt, Im sure some people will make some small points here and there though

Usually when comparing Corsairs and XFX, it comes down to how long their warranty is and which one is cheaper. Case being that both are very close in design and manufactured by seasonic so build quality most of the time matches each other.

In this case, the XFX is cheaper after rebate compared to the corsair which means its the better buy.

Actually, Corsair has 10% off, CSAVE10, I applied it, the Corsair comes out to $144.48

XFX comes out to 151.82

Corsairs parts are made by SeaSonic?

Some of them are, the HX series is actually built by Channel Well Tech, but both are excellent units and very similar in results for ripple, voltage regulation and efficiency, in a choice between those two i would go for the cheaper one because you cannot really lose. The only thing that bothered Wolf about the 850W XFX unit was the glowing green fan, they have since gotten rid of that so now it would end up with an even higher overall score than the HX 850.
