If you're doing Video editing I don't see the 'need' for a HDMI; I get 'Quick Sync' and it's perfectly fine for an iPad MPEG-2/4/H.264, but I personally wouldn't use Quick Sync for much anything else (poorer quality) than a pure CPU encoding.

Professional work is on a Workstation typically Xeon and ECC RAM.

The only 'new' stuff worth considering this year, 2012, is Ivy Bridge. However, all of the Cinebench and Adobe tests Ivy Bridge (4-core/8-thread) vs Sandy Bridge Extreme (6-core/12-thread) the SB-E LGA 2011 clearly beats the IB LGA 1155. The Ivy Bridge Extreme (LGA 2011) has been delayed until Q1-2013.

Further now (today), you can get the just released Xeon E5's (8-core/16-thread) and support up to (2) E5's (16-core/32-thread).

So it depends on 'How Professional' you are and how much money you have to spend?
