:hello: Hi. My old card, which is a Nvidia 8800 GT, basically gave out. So im looking for a new card. I have a budget of about 70-100$. Ive looked at Radeon HD 5770 and 5750, and they look nice. Does anyone have either of these cards? Could you tell me what is like. I would like to have a card that could run Mass Effect 2 nicely.

Any Suggestions are welcome!!! :bounce:

If you can get a HD5770 for $100 then go for it, but beware if your board has PCIe x16 slot version 1.x to get a card version 2.0 not 2.1 which has had issues with older boards.

I have a PowerColor Hd 5770 PLAY! Edition and so far it's so good. Quiet, high performance and very cool. Highly recommended

Another option 2.0 GTS450 card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814130572 not as powerful as HD5770 but not far from it

any 2.1 card will run on 2.0. You don't need to look at one specifically aimed at PCI-E 2.0

He has a board with version 1.x slot!

If that is the case it still won't matter much though as I am pretty sure all the cards mentioned in the thread are backward compatible to PCI-E 1.0

The only thing that matters is that when AMD/ATI introduced the HD5xxx cards in version 2.1 there where many people that got no video with them in older version 1.x boards, very few boards got a BIOS update to fix the issue.

Saphire 5770(2.0) $140=$20 Promo code+$15 MIR and Free Shipping

Not sure if the Promo Code and the MIR will work together. But it makes sense that they should.I think thats a really good deal and Saphire is known for throwing in extra goodies.Molex adapter,VGA to DVI adapter and a crossfire bridge.Much better than a XFX version. But you have to hurry on the Promo code deal,it ends tomorrow(2/10)
