Will a Ultra LSP550 watt power supply support a HD5870?

That is the power supply I have now, the Ultra LSP550,; I'm doubting it's performance since I believe it is on the edge. I really cannot risk to let this PSU take any of my hardware down if it does go down. At the moment I'm thinking of upgrading into a HD5870; wondering would it pull it off.

Specs:
i5 750
EVGA P55 FTW
H50 cooler
2 hdds
4gb ddr3 1600
7 case fans
Creative XTREME sound card

Thank you!

I certainly sounds like it should support the card but you know, if you don't feel sure or safe or certain about something, then DON'T go for it and risk wrecking your system

Yes it will. I just changed my LSP550 out for a XFX 850 because I X-fired my 5870.

Similar setup too.

I7 860 OC to 3.8Ghz 5 case fans 1 SSD with Two HDD 8GB DDR XMS

There you go, a person who has had success using the PSU, should be a reliable source

XFX 850? You mean 5850? But I thought the HD5870 uses more power.

Your power supply should be fine with a single 5870, just as z06psi has stated.
