Security Key issue -may need experts with this one

Hello, I've got a very contradicting problem. I went on that http://192.168.1.1/ site and changed the security type to WEP using my laptop. So it generated a key for me and I hit the apply changes button. I forgot to write the new key down. So now I cannot access the router from my laptop, therefore no internet connection to find and write down the new key. Any advice? ='( ...my mom is going to kill me....

You need to connect the laptop to the router using a cable that would have been shipped with the router. While you're in tehre, it's adviseable to change from WEP to one of the higher levels - WEP is easily hacked.[/#000ff]
