I came up with an Intel and AMD gaming PC build. I'm looking for suggestions and feedback. Im trying to keep the budget for computer and monitor below $1200.

Intel Quad:

AMD Quad:

I would swap the WD Black in the Intel build to a Samsung F3 1TB (faster and reliable), but other than that, get the Intel build. AMD doesn't stand a chance against the Sandy Bridge CPUs.

Check out my siggy for 1000$ build, you'll get a better mobo and a chip that you can overclock, more memory, and a bit more kick.

I forgot to mention that i'm not an overclocker. I don't have the budget to replace anything that I fry, and I have never overclocked anything before.

I also don't plan on adding more video cards to the PC.

I'd vote for the Intel build as the chip is a lot faster. If you can squeeze in an SSD for your boot / system drive you will not regret it.

Will I notice a difference between the two builds while playing, or is it only going to matter for benchmarks?

The GTX 560 Ti will be the most significant difference in gaming between those two builds, I'd say that if both builds had the GTX 560 Ti then you would get perfectly playable framerates in both for an equally long length of time.

If you must get a Corsair 650TX, get the 650TXV2 as that is 80Plus Bronze efficient as well as being better all round than the original TX. However these are better again as they are modular:

I've owned Asus monitors, and personally I loved them. However, my favorite brand is Dell by far. Take a look at their E-/P-/U- series monitors (increasing in price from left to right). The E-series is a lot like the professional series minus a few stand features (pivoting and height). If you can afford an Ultrasharp, I would say go for it, but the Professional series should work really well.

Ughhh I hate biased builders.

Also you can't base builds off review from Newegg. You base them off reviews done by major websites. Not user reviews, their never right and never smart enough because they don't in-depth enough. Those user reviews are a bunch of bull ****.

I love reading those reviews on newegg...more for entertainment than anything. They have some good ones like peeps taking 4 eggs of a product because someone was too slow on the rebates, or taking eggs off for buying a card like a 580 and then complaining that their 2005 400w Thermaltake psu won't run it. And the best part of it is that they have their "tech savy" thing next to their name on "high". LOL...what a bunch of tards.

I'm not being biased. My un-interest in ATI cards is from past bad experiences with them, that and they don't support PhysX games very well or at all in some cases. The Antec 650W Green power supply reviews from this website don't look promising, considering it doesn't come with a power cord leads me to believe they may have "Gone Green" with other parts.

Antec's PSUs are actually very good. I was using a 650W to power an i7-930 and 2x GTX 470s OCed, and it ran without a hiccup. They aren't the absolute best manufacturer (I'd put them 3rd on my list), but you can't beat the performance and quality for the price.

thats correct, you cant have everything for less money. the big decision is do you want to SLI eventually? also what do you plan on using pci slots for?

edit: if you swap out the combo for this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite...
you will have your pci slots and more room to work with, for $30 more, bring you only $10 over budget.

the 2nd build that i linked meets all of your specifications:
no sli
no oc
no antec psu
no asus monitor
1 pci slot
under $1200 including monitor

it also has:
8gb ram
usb 3.0
sata 6
1tb hdd
gtx 570>msi twin frozr 560ti

the build comes in at $1150 total. there is even money to spare for a hyper 212 plus cooler ($27) (which i doubt you will need):

That is not what they have done. They are just targetting a market who already have power cords from all the other PSUs they've bought, all of which have come with power cords.

I'm not particularly advocating the Antec Earthwatts Green 650, but the Antec Truepower New is definitely something that should be seriously considered IMO.

As for bad newegg reviews. Everyone has bad luck and there's a chance for every unit to develop a fault after it has left the factory and QC because of bumps and bruises during transportation; people sometimes even have problems with Corsair PSUs, despite them being the 'best PSU brand'...

They are correct. 500w + 36amps I believe is what is recommended for those cards. I put a 550w in that build up above that I posted for the fact it gives you plenty of head room for over clocking, adding extra drives, fans, etc... It's that XFX 550w in that build I posted on here.
