Hi everybody!

I am planning to buy and build myself a new computer, and your toughts about it would be appreciated. Like if I forget something, or chose parts which don't fit, are overpriced, useless or just plain bad.

So, on the meat of the subject :

1. Country : Canada

2. Preferred retailer : Newegg.ca
I'm open to every retailer that ships and sells to Canada and allows me to lower prices

3. Purchase date : ASAP

4. Parts not needed : Monitor, keyboard, mouse

5. Use : Gaming, mostly

6. Price : under 1500$, with good quality/price ratio, is now ~1400 C$

7. Overclocking: Maybe
SLI or Crossfire: Not now

8. Build for now :

CPU : Intel i5 2500k Sandy Bridge

Looks very nice to me, except I wouldn't buy Vista, I would buy Windows 7 64bit.

Everybody seems to recommend ripjaws, doesn't really matter at all. Any 1.5v DDR3 1333/1600 will be fine, it's a personal choice.

I only use Corsair or Kingston ram, just my personal choice.

Why? Just for a noob's curiosity sake :)

Just because you selected gskill ripjaws! The ripjawsX has the same timings and price and is marketed for Sandy Bridge. Otherwise I agree with Geekapproved

Ah, ok! As u can see, I've done it. But would the other ripjaws have worked, or made a difference in performance? I'm curious.

I think they would not have been any issues with the other ones and if there was any performance difference then it would be that small that it would be barely measurable.
