Normally oem versions do not come with software or cables.
However, on occasions they have included the software - but it is a hit an miss deal unless it states that it does include the player software. Reading some of the reviewer comments you can see some get it/ some do not on some of the Burners.

For writting to there is Imgburn also a freebee.

As to playing software. Have not seen any freebees. Here are the two that I use.

Thank You. Does it come with good software to play and record blu-ray? Newegg does not answer product questions and the model is not listed on the LG site.

As to brand of writter: I like (have) a LG and a pioneer, Both have worked fine, no problems for over a year.

Added: I noted that one reviewer did recieve "Came with a nice suite of SW which included PowerDVD 8" Did not read all, just a few.
Cyberlink is often bunndled with OEM drives, But usually an old version so that they can get you to upgrade. They are currently up to ver 10, I'm still using ver 7 that I got with one of my OEM drives.
