ive been advised for extreme overclocking too get the noctua NHD14 but the size of it is well stupidly big so looked a bit and saw the Noctua NH-C14 how does that rate compared too it or is it any good?

You can contact Noctua and get the heat transfer curves for both these models. That would give you correct, quantified information.

I got similar information from Cooler Master regarding their heatsinks. Quantified information based on research and testing by the manufacturer.
