Hi,
What are normal idle temps for the Core-i7 920?
At the moment I'm having quite high temperatures(4 cores: ~55C, ~52C, ~52C, ~50C). I have applied new thermal paste and the temps have dropped only a couple of Cs. Also I have set the voltage to 1.15V of Vcore. The maximum temps if I load the CPU are high, even reaches 80C, with defaults(auto settings) it goes higher.

Also the MCH is running at ~60C idle, doesn't go very high, but reaches 70C+.

Specs:
CPU: Core-i7 920 @ 2.66GHz(IntelTurbo disabled, 133x20)
MOBO: GA-EX58-DS4
RAM: 5x1GB 1333MHz(at the moment it is 1066MHz, SPD 8.0)
Video: Gainward HD 4850GS

I believe that the fan is just not good enough to keep doing his job properly. I'm using a stock Intel heat sink/fan.

That is a very warm running cpu. Your temps are within specs, and with the Intel heatsink, you'll get a three year warranty. If the temps still bother you, checkout some 120mm heatsinks by scythe or thermaltake at newegg. Coolermaster also makes the hyper 212, which is popular for the value crowd.

Your fan can't spin maximum, it can cause heat , for better get new cooler aftermarket like hyper 212

Thanks, the Hyper 212 looks not bad, I think I'll go with it.
