hi,

did anyone has such issue, my X48T-A mobo (ver 1.0) is not compatible to the cpu Q9400, but works with E6600.

i already update to the most new bios, but both bios sounds not support my core 2 quad Q9400.

check ECS web, it is said only mobo V1.0 support Q9xx0, and my MoBo do really is V1.0 marked on PCB and shown on CPU-Z.

did this mobo has another verson before V1.0

any ideal is most welcome

As an X48 board you should have no issues running any S775 CPU out there. Are you sure the CPU is good? And/or your PSU is good enough to power a quad.

Hi there,

It is valid and OK for the mobo.

LGA775 Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q9400 (R0) (95W) N/A 2.66 GHz 6MB

hi,
thanks alot for your attention,

i know mobo partially works. as you see on ECS web,
what ECS said ony version 1.0 support Q9xxx, that means other version may not support, i don't think ECS has v1.0 before's version. it just imply some X48T-A verion 1.0 do not support Q9xxx.

the satuation of my mobo is black sreen no beep first. after clear cmos, system halt with wrong time setting (system beep), but it detect CPU and Memory correct on screen! (show Q9400 and mem time setting)

F1 goto bios setting, i can not do any adjust, even do nothing after save and exit, black screen again with no beep.
do nothing after non-save and exit, system stuck on windows boot.

another CPU E6600 works fine on this mobo by a way.

hi,

thanks a lot,

i am not build up new desktop this time. my sytem before is evga-680i and Q9400. 4gig DDR2 and nvidia 9800GT, 480w FSP power supply, no SLI and no overclock yet.

old mobo (680i) broke one capacitor recently on DDR conner, it cause system reboot intermmitent.
Q9400 works fine on 965p-DQ6 mobo and Dell before, i did not think any issue on CPU

you remind me about power supply, i will replace one with 600w to test this mobo again.

thanks again

not new install, but before put my Q9400 on this mobo, i used E6600 to renew all of the ECS driver already. my win 7 is omni version.

U need to remove the old chipset.

Can u go to the safe mode? Keep pressing F8 button when PC starts.

New install = no problems : ))

Old install = old problems + new problems with old drivers.

Sometimes it works fine, but mostly its not without pain.

I always do clean install. That way u get top performance.

did not work in safe model ether. just stuck at windows sigh.

actually this mobo drives the another CPU E6600 fine in windows 7 64 bits version, evry driver for X48T-A mobo has been replaced and installed on this new system with ECS mobo.

i just replaced E6600 to Q9400 after above. black screen as discribed before, issue occured then.
